Ardennes Arbalète, stage 4 of 5

Ardennes Arbalète 4

Couettes et Picotin

The next day was the worst of all, especially at the start. I woke up with a migraine. Not a terrible one, or it wouldn’t have let me carry on, but a pretty strong one. Too late to take any medication. I packed up the tent half-heartedly and rode down to the village, where I tried to get some breakfast. I barely managed a coffee and half a croissant, as my migraines tend to come with nausea, and I tried to carry on. Even so, I still felt like taking a few (very few) photos.

Fortunately the migraine eased little by little until it was gone, which let me enjoy the route. My strength was limited, but I made it to the finish. And in this case, the destination was worth it.

At last I could enjoy the hospitality of the French family who own this place, their food (what a breakfast!) and even play with their dog until I dropped (literally). A puppy that, without a doubt, had more energy than me.
